π‘ Why DECA Competition is a Big Deal
DECA isn’t just a club; itβs a “business simulation” that prepares students for the real world.
-
The Role-Play: Students are often given a “problem” or scenario and have only 10β20 minutes to craft a professional solution to present to a judge.
-
The Exam: Competitors also take a 100-question industry-validated exam to prove their technical knowledge.
-
The Network: State competition allows our students to network with thousands of other high-achievers and business professionals from across Tennessee.
Pro-Tip for Competitors: Success in DECA is all about the “Power Statement.” When you walk into your role-play, lead with a confident introduction and clearly state your goals for the meeting. First impressions often set the tone for your entire score!
